  • Inner Core Layer- Made up of High Density fibreboard
  • Image or Design Layer- A high resolution image of a Real wood floor that is hot pressed on to the Inner Core layer
  • Wear layer- An Overlay of Aluminium Oxide  which provides scratch and wear resistance to the laminate and prevents the flooring from scratching  and fading.

Pros and Cons of Laminate Flooring
Laminate Flooring is very durable and designed for easy maintenanace.
  • Provides the realistic look of wood at a much lower cost. It is usually a very high resolution picture of a real wood that is pressed and coated with Aluminium Oxide , the sturdiest of coatings to give the much needed durability and scratch resistance
  • Pet Friendly- Superior durability for households with large pets.
  • Cannot be Refinished Unlike hardwood floors, laminate cannot be refinished or recoated., incase of scratches the entire plank needs to be replaced.
  • Shorter Life Expectancy than Natural Products
Laminate's life expectancy of 15 to 30 years is on par with other types of manufactured flooring, but considerably less than that of real wood
  • Adds Less Value to Your Home than Solid and Engineered wood
Laminate does not have the same perceived value of the real wood it mimics sice it is essentially a faus wood floor.
