Laminated Flooring is essentially a high resolution image of a Real wood floor pressed on to an HDF base , coated with Aluminium Oxide overlay to give it wear resistance
Most laminates have 4 layers
- Backing Layer- Which provides moisture resistance and prevents the floorboard from warping
- Inner Core Layer- Made up of High Density fibreboard
- Image or Design Layer- A high resolution image of a Real wood floor that is hot pressed on to the Inner Core layer
- Wear layer- An Overlay of Aluminium Oxide which provides scratch and wear resistance to the laminate and prevents the flooring from scratching and fading.
